How to do it
Tip
You can collect statements in advance or let the participants come up with them. They can be both simple and more profound statements, such as:
– I am a morning person
– I don’t like winter
– I want to learn something new this year
– Meeting new people makes me nervous
-
Divide the participants into pairs.
-
The pairs stand facing each other about 3–5 meters apart (e.g., on opposite sides of the room).
-
The instructor takes turns saying different statements, such as “I like to dance” or “I like music.”
-
If the pair agrees with the statement, they take a step towards each other. If they disagree, they stay where they are.
-
The game ends when the pairs’ toes touch each other.
The method strengthens the sense of belonging and encourages open interaction. Finding similarities supports social security and trust.
