More movement for youth work!
Come on! More movement for youth work
Come on! has been developed in collaboration with youth leaders and experts on young people’s physical activity and mental health. The methods are inspired by ideas from the youth leaders themselves and everyday youth work.
Come on! encourages more physical activity among young people in four different ways based on needs identified in development work and emerging from everyday youth work.
Come on! offers
- quick and easy-to-implement ideas for the here and now
- ways to incorporate more physical activity into meetings with young people
- methods for increasing young people’s participation, and
- tools for developing a more active operating environment and culture in the longer term.
Come on! works in parallel with the online course An active youth – a healthy mind.
The online course provides a theoretical foundation on how movement affects young people’s mental well-being, which can be put into practice with the help of Come on! The online course takes about an hour to complete and can be done either individually or together with colleagues.
Good tips to share!

”You don’t need to be an expert in sports to get young people to exercise. Even small doses of activity and simple ideas that encourage movement make a difference.”
-Youth leader, 2025
Come on! and the online course Active Youth – Healthy Mind have been developed as part of the Movement in Youth Work project (2024–2025), with support from the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Finland on the Move program.
