Nordic Summit on Mental Health 2021

The 4th biannual Nordic Summit on Mental Health “Restart: post-pandemic strategies for mental health” will be held 18-19 November 2021 in Helsinki, Finland.

Restart: post-pandemic strategies for mental health

Mental well-being is one of the building blocks of the Nordic welfare state. The COVID-19 pandemic, the ecologic crisis and other major social challenges show the need for mental health promotion and psychological crisis resilience in society at large. Psychological crisis resilience is a crucial element of  the welfare state and reflects how individuals and communities handle crises and recover from them.

The 4th biannual Nordic Summit on Mental Health “Restart: post-pandemic strategies for mental health” will be held 18-19 November 2021 in Helsinki, Finland. The summit is organised as a part of the programme for the Finnish presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers 2021.

The summit will focus on social actions for post-covid mental health promotion, building psychological crisis resilience and strengthening the Nordic welfare state. Reconstruction of mental well-being in the Nordic countries after the COVID-19 pandemic and suicide prevention during crisis will be discussed. The summit welcomes experts, policy makers, researchers and practitioners to join and discuss mental health issues together. The summit is organised by MIELI Mental Health Finland as a hybrid meeting with the possibility to attend on site in Helsinki or online via webcast.
