SOS Crisis Centre
SOS Crisis Centre offers short term crisis counselling and guidance in crisis situations for anyone living in Finland including immigrants, asylum seekers, victims of human trafficking and undocumented immigrants.
We offer crisis counselling in Finnish, Swedish, English and if necessary, through an interpreter in the client’s mother tongue. Counselling is cost free and it’s possible to make the contact anonymous.
No referral is needed to book an appointment, only the own experience of crisis is enough. Common reasons for the client to seek help from the SOS center:
- Difficult situation in life
- Difficulties adapting to a new culture
- Marital relationship problems and family problems
- Suicidal thoughts
- Sudden losses
- Accidents, violence
- Mental health problems

Mielenterveystalo.fi is a website about mental health. There is an online guide for immigrants with information, exercises and instructions about mental health, immigration process and well-being. Information can be found in Finnish, English, Russian, Arabic, Kurdish-sorani and Somali.
Rehabilitation courses for immigrants
The SOS Crisis Centre organises rehabilitation courses for those who have experienced difficult crises in life. Stability training courses are for immigrants who come from difficult circumstances and who have experienced traumatic events. The aim of the course is to learn to control the symptoms of anxiety and feel better. The course consists of 8-10 group meetings. Interpreters are available.
Stability trainings are shorter courses about mental health and well-being. The trainings are organised together with immigration services and schools.
