On the Path to Recovery manual

On the Path to Recovery – a Group Model for Bereaved by suicide presents an implementation model for professionally guided peer support groups.

Suicidal thoughts and self-destructiveness

If you are having suicidal thoughts or thoughts of self-harm, please remember that help is available. Even if you do not feel like it, change is possible. The first step into feeling better is to tell someone about your situation. You can start by contacting MIELI Crisis Helpline if you do not know who else to turn to with your feelings.

Self-destructive thoughts are not uncommon

Anyone can experience self-destructive thoughts at some point in their life. Self-destructive thoughts can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, background or situation.

Concern over the suicidal thoughts of a loved one

If someone close to you tells you they are thinking or planning to commit suicide, it is extremely important to always listen to what they have to say. Encourage them to seek help and help them understand that help really is available.
