The project develops models that improve parents’ ability to support the resilience of children and youth against harmful online content originating from extremist ideologies, and to react to the potential risk of radicalisation. In developing these models, workshops and dialogue groups are organised to listen to the experiences and concerns of both parents and youth.

Parents are also offered group and individual support. The purpose of this support is to strengthen parents’ resources and help them find new perspectives on challenging situations where a concern for a child or young person has arisen.

Furthermore, the project trains professionals and volunteers in online resilience and the prevention of radicalisation. The goal is to increase the ability of professionals to recognise the phenomenon and offer appropriate help. The training is especially aimed at professionals working in digital environments, but it is suitable for all professionals and volunteers who encounter youth or their parents.

Main Objective

The main objective of the project is to help parents make sense of online phenomena and strengthen their children’s resilience against extremist content.

Project Goals

  • Increasing parents’ opportunities to recognise and react to the risk of their child’s radicalisation through a low-threshold digital tool.
  • Guiding parents toward the right support regarding radicalisation by making vital information accessible through MIELI ry’s AI Assistant for Parenting.
  • Strengthening professionals’ ability to recognise radicalisation and support young people’s online resilience.
  • Providing parents with both group and individual support to help them manage challenging situations.

The project is funded by EU ISF – Internal Security Fund 1.5.2026-30.4.2028
